ONE ROOM CHALLENGE WEEK 2 | MUDROOM DESIGN
I am so excited to be adding a functioning mudroom to this house as part of the One Room Challenge! In case you missed our post from week one, you can catch up here.
We have some design plans in the works over here! We have plans to build hooks with a bench underneath. Above the hooks will be the perfect spot for a bit of the wallpaper that we have left over from our nursery that is oh so dreamy. And below the hooks, we will be putting some shiplap on our wall. But we have a surprise for you! We're doing it ... we're going for dark trimwork in this space! Can't wait to show you how it turns out!
We've got some big plans for the closet too! We have been creating a shelving design to get a massive amount of storage for all the kiddo's stuff including jackets, shoes, mitts, toques, bike helmets, and backpacks. It's going to be ahhh-mazing and will help this busy mama stay organized!
We're adding the same tile in a herringbone pattern that is in our entryway, main bath, and laundry room for some consistency... and because I love the tile! This tile is easy to clean and doesn't show dirt at all.
We plan to paint the room in a very light, creamy-grey colour. This colour is already in our main bathroom and walk-in-closet and I couldn't love it more. The colour is airy and compliments greys, creams, whites, browns, and wood-tones. The colour is 'Croquis Inkling' (6202-11) from SICO.
Here's a photo from our bathroom that shows the wall colour and tiles that we're using in our mudroom.
It gets easier and easier to make some of these design choices as we move through projects because we can pull from other colours and design choices that were made during other projects in our house. We are excited about the darker trim though! And it will be fun to make this project unique with the hooks & bench spot and all of the decor.
Ok! See you next week!
