Cam and I were in love with the final look of this kitchen. The space felt light and spacious. The flow was smooth and functional. It was easy to work and entertain in this kitchen. We couldn’t be happier with all how all of the small details worked out and contributed to an overall gorgeous kitchen.
Simply loved the white kitchen cabinets from our last house! And since we only lived at that house for just over a year, we didn’t even get a chance to grow tired of those white cabinets so we went with the same choice this time around.
Again, there were about a thousand boxes that arrived from IKEA.
We were aiming for a much more modern feel in this house and despite choosing the same cabinets, we were able to incorporate modern elements within this kitchen.
The farmhouse apron sink is just such a classic look that we love, so we when we came across this stainless steel farmhouse apron sink on Amazon, it was love at first sight. This modern twist on a classic sink style fit into our modern kitchen seamlessly.
The clean lines on this tap were striking. And the tap itself was incredibly functional.
I wanted a bold, but simple pendant light to hang over the island so when Cam came across this light, he was promoted to Design Assistant for sure! This light fit a long wish list because I feel like it is elegant, fancy, modern, sophisticated, and simple all at the same time! This house and this light are soul mates. I included an online link to this light, just to help you find it online, but we actually bought it through a local lighting store that had much better pricing - go local lighting store!! (Unfortunately, the local lighting store didn't have a link to this light on their website).
Modern cabinets call for modern handles so the clean lines of the Lansa handles from IKEA worked perfectly.
We chose a white granite that had brown and gray streaks running through it. The backsplash featured glossy white subway tiles. And the upper cabinets had under-cabinet lighting that shone on the backsplash beautifully.
