It was so much fun to design Bennett's nursery in our last house! You can check out that post here!
I really was in love with the final look of the nursery and since we didn't get to enjoy it for very long before we sold our house, I was happy that it was still a functional design for the nursery in our new house.
Here's the before photos of the nursery:
We painted the closet doors and the hallway door with two coats of the creamy white colour that we chose for the trim. I loved that you could still see the wood grain in the doors even though I painted them so to enhance that character, I proceeded to distress the doors a bit by sanding the edges here and there. We also added oil-rubbed bronze hardware on the doors. The wooden shelving and rods in the closet were very sturdy so we just painted them with the creamy white trim colour as well.
We added our favourite seafoam colour to the walls. We picked out a greige-coloured carpet that we had installed. And then we added new baseboards and painted them with the trim colour.
We're still looking for a light for the room that will add a rustic touch to the room, but is still appropriate for a nursery. The room is right next to ours so we can hear him easily and there's a lot of storage between the over-sized closet and the huge Hemnes dresser from IKEA.
We've been getting a lot of mileage out of this nursery design because after just a couple tweaks, it is now Sullivan's room. We tried to further pull out the Safari animal theme with some additional accessories and we also added a home-made painting that says 'Hello Sunshine' and of course, we added Sullivan's name above the headboard behind the crib.
Bennett has made the exciting transition to his 'big-kid room' that is just down the hall. Bennett's new room has a lot of special touches and we can't wait to show y'all soon!
